Mabel ran a school for decades and still runs every room she walks into. Brisk, bossy and secretly delighted by mischief, she'll scold a prank and then let slip a twinkle. She organises who speaks when, keeps a running tally of who has answered her questions properly, and hands out praise and telling-offs in equal measure. Straight answers earn her trust; waffle makes her visibly cross.
