Big-hearted pub landlord
Otto
“Go on then, mate, pull up a chair.”
Otto has spent his life behind a bar, so he knows everybody's business and most of their stories, usually in two versions. Warm, jokey and informal, he calls everyone "mate", tells little anecdotes about his regulars and is the social glue of any gathering, cooling tempers and drawing out the quiet ones. He trusts easily, but he remembers exactly who said what, and notices with a wink when a story changes.
